RFC 4122 Version 4 UUID Generator for Development & Testing
A Universally Unique Identifier (UUID), also known in Microsoft environments as a Globally Unique Identifier (GUID), is a 128-bit identifier standardized under RFC 4122. Version 4 UUIDs are formatted into five hyphen-separated groups of hexadecimal characters: 8-4-4-4-12 (for example, c9a646d3-9c61-4cc9-bc84-b00f162d69f9).
WebTorq's UUID Generator enables engineers to create single or bulk batches of v4 UUIDs directly inside the browser. It is ideal for populating mock databases, writing unit test fixtures, and generating unique keys for frontend state management.
Technical Structure of a Version 4 UUID
128-Bit Representation
32 hexadecimal characters plus 4 hyphens create a distinct 36-character string with negligible probability of duplication across test environments.
Bulk Batch Generation
Generate up to 50 UUIDs simultaneously with newline separation for straightforward copy-paste into CSV seed files or test fixtures.
Format Compliant
Fully compatible with PostgreSQL uuid columns, MongoDB string IDs, and ORM entity keys.
